Using myself as model, the images in Fluid are constructions of human interaction with water ranging from drowning to drought. Made at various depths and locations, they describe the environmental impact of a planet in the throws of epic climate change. From an insurmountable abundance in the form of flash floods and tsunamis to widespread famine brought on by extreme periods of drought, the effects of global warming and the complex meaning of water as currency are taken into consideration. Not intended as documents of natural disasters, but apocalyptic visions that advocate the need for more awareness; reminders that time is running out and that Nature, in its truest sense of the sublime, does not care who we are.
